
IV HISTORICAL PICNIC

As part of the Picnic, 10 unique stands were prepared, in which participants, especially children and adolescents, will be able to see the uniforms and equipment of Polish soldiers from World War II as well as from the 17th century. Anyone willing will be able to undergo training in military drill, learn about historical weapons and pick up a replica of a 17th century saber.
The event will consist of the following panels:
1. Border crossing at the entrance to the Picnic area there will be a border barrier guarded by the Tomaszowski Szwadron im. 1st Cavalry Regiment of the Border Protection Corps, where permits to cross the border will be issued. KOP members, after meeting the conditions for crossing the border, will let those willing to visit the Picnic site, where many attractions await.
2. Military connoisseur - historical site adapted to the age and capabilities of the participant, which will include a display of armaments and military uniforms with exhibits from the war. On the stand it will be held military training, which will take place in the camp of Polish troops from the Second World War, presented by the Historical Reconstruction Group of WIR. Diorama for a historical camp, which will consist of elements of fortifications, a mast with a white and red flag, an exhibition of equipment and weapons. At the stand, reenactors in historical uniforms will conduct an animation for the audience. It will be a training for participants of the Picnic, during which the basic drill commands of the Polish army will be handed over.
3. Sanitary stand Field Hospital located with the reconstructed rescue camp. This stand will host an exhibition of historical medical equipment. There will be classes on first aid, bandaging and limb stiffening, in which participants of the picnic will take part.
4. Life during the hardships of war - a position of the Tomaszów Lubelski Historical Reconstruction Group of the Civil Population, which will present what life was like in the 1930s and 1940s, including fashion, clothing and food. The whole thing will be located in the open-air museum buildings with household and agricultural tools.
5. Ordynacka nobility - a camp of dangerous Outlaws from Zamość, bloodthirsty enemies and enthusiastic fighters. It hosts reenactors straight from the 17th century in full military uniforms as well as colorful women's clothing with a display of military weapons - sabers and flintlock pistols. Saber fights, stories from the 17th century Zamość and a feast with food and wine.
6. Military of Territorial Defense - a stand about the 25th Light Infantry Battalion in Zamość - part of the 2nd Territorial Defense Brigade, which will present the present appearance of the army with a display of uniforms, weapons and vehicles used for service. which people interested in serving - including the newest type of armed forces - will be able to obtain all the necessary information about the service.
7. Historical passion - a place where regionalists from Roztocze and Grzęda Sokalska, in their stories, will present their passion for the culture, history and tradition of the Lublin region. After the stories, everyone willing will be able to talk to historians personally and exchange interesting facts about their places.
8. Folk cuisine - the picnic cannot miss a place with all the most important dishes of the Lublin region, prepared by ladies from the Rural Housewives' Clubs. Full of flavors, the cuisine of Roztocze and Grzęda Sokalska will diversify the Picnic with a show of ladies who devote their free time to serving traditional dishes. Additionally, as part of the picnic, pea soup and grilled sausage will be available.
9. Performances of folk groups that will perform the most important patriotic songs as well as folk ones related to the Roztocze area. On the main stage, throughout the duration of the Picnic, a team from the Telatyn Commune will entertain all participants, as well as invite them to play and dance together.
10. Scouts from the Modrzewo team from Telatyn, led by Mr. Henryk Szaruga from the very beginning. The team was founded next to the Gymnasium in Telatyn and brings together young students who want to promote life in the spirit of scouts, help, work for the benefit of their towns and meet at common camps.
The culmination of the Picnic will be the historical reconstruction of the period of September 1939, in which more than 30 reenactors with uniforms and war weapons will take part. There will be shots, emotions and a show of fortitude that the heroes of those times had, who, abandoning everything they loved so far, went on the enemy in order to save their beloved country from danger.
In the scientific and competition part, students from the Secondary School in Łaszczów will present their stand with the OzoBot programming show, drone operation and flight over the Picnic site, as well as singing patriotic songs and prepared competitions for the youngest.

Historical Reconstruction Group WIR
Historical Reconstruction Group whose patron is Lt. Konrad Bartoszewski pseud. "WIR" the hero of partisan fights in Roztocze. For many years, a group that has been communicating to the inhabitants of the Lublin region what historical passion is, the memory of the heroes of the struggle for a free Poland and the love of showing the most important historical events for our lands through dioramas and historical reconstruction. We can meet the members of the group at the most important events, including reconstruction of the battle of Tomaszów Lubelski, anniversaries of the battle of Osuchy or the fights in Szczebrzeszyn.
Tomaszowski Szwadron im. 1st Cavalry Regiment of the Border Protection Corps
Uniformed members of the Historical Reconstruction Group have been hosting the picnic from the very beginning and were the first to show us the appearance of the KOP troops, which were the first to oppose the hostile attacks on Poland in September 1939. The love for the homeland that lies dormant in the squad members is a model to follow, because in a direct way you can get to know what the service in the ranks of the KOP looked like, what kind of weapons existed during World War II.

The civilian population is a group of history enthusiasts who want to recall the fate, tradition, culture, clothing and behavior of the civilian population by participating in reconstructions, historical performances and folk shows. .
The Banici Zamojscy Foundation
An organization founded by people for whom they are passionate about showing history in the 17th century related to Zamość, the Zamość Estate, the heroes of those times, Jan Zamoyski and Stanisław Zółkiewski. Members of the organization play the role of 17th-century characters, through clothing, arming with firearms and white weapons, and behavior straight from the noble Zamość. When the situation requires it, the organization helps those in need and supports regional initiatives, including support related to the publication of books about Roztocze. The group organizes the "Potyczka o Zamczysko", in which also many other groups with a similar passion for history take part.
Regionalists from Roztocze and Grzęda Sokalska
Janusz Sławiński - a resident of the Telatyn commune, who is passionate about the history of the commune and Grzęda Sokalska. Passion for history is shown by Mr. Janusz by searching for important historical events, photography and living history passed on by the elderly and related to incl. with Poturzyn, Tytus Woyciechowski, Telatyn and Posadow.
Zdzisław Pizun residing in Lubycza Królewska, a graduate of history at the Pedagogical University in Rzeszów. In the years 1988-2011, a history teacher in the Lubycza Królewska commune, in 2003 an instructor at the Communal Culture, Sports and Tourism Center in Lubycza Królewska. Historian, regionalist, publicist, editor, publisher, cultural animator, journalist, co-author and author of several regional books, brochures and historical articles, including co-author of scientific articles in the "Rocznik Tomaszowski" (2016-2020) and the author in the collective study "Ziemia Lubycka" ”(2017). Sławomir Litkowiec - a resident of Grzęda Sokalska from Żerniki, a lover of culture, tradition and history of eastern Lublin communes, who passes his passion on social media through articles, descriptions of historical events and restoring important places of history, including forgotten monuments. Mr. Sławomir is a graduate of the Catholic University of Lublin, for these reasons he is close to the Lublin region and a historical passion associated with the place of residence, the more so as he is associated with the Tomaszówska Regional Portfolio, which publishes descriptions of the history of the Tomaszów district.
25th Light Infantry Battalion in Zamość - part of the 2nd Territorial Defense Brigade
The Territorial Defense Forces Unit is the youngest in the formation of the Polish Army, whose task is to operate in regional areas, where they are always the first to provide assistance to those who need it, e.g. natural disasters, and more recently, help with vaccination against COVID-19. The soldiers watch over the country's security, secure the most important places for the country, and are a new opportunity for young people who want to check their physical fitness.
Rural Housewives' Clubs from the Roztocze and Grzęda Sokalska regions
The stand of the ladies from the Rural Housewives' Clubs, who, as part of maintaining tradition and culture, prepare regional dishes, dress folk costumes and organize various events related to life in the countryside. Ladies devote their free time to spreading the tradition in the villagers, which has been developing for many years and becomes a passion also for young people who want to act for the benefit of their towns. Ladies from KGW Neighbors from Łaszówka and the Singers Group "Neighbors" will honor us with their presence, who together form one organism, sometimes wearing traditional clothes, sometimes a chef's apron, and other times working trousers. It has been operating for over 40 years. The chairman is Alicja Babiarz, daughter-in-law of the founders of the circle, Irena and Mieczysław Babiarz. They regularly organize Midsummer Night, Women's Day, and Christmas Wafer Meetings. They are involved in various projects, charity campaigns, cooperate with the school, firefighters from the Volunteer Fire Department, sportsmen and fans of GKS "Pogoń 96" Łaszczówka and the Association of Social Initiatives for the Development of the Village of Łaszczówka. They write and implement projects such as "Renewing the Piekiełko Reserve" and "As it used to be - wedding dances"
Secondary School in Łaszczów
Students from the High School in Łaszczów, together with teachers, will present the scientific attractions that await students in the high school, including programming OzoBots, training in drone operation and training in the future profession of a Border Guard. Competitions and singing patriotic songs will be held at the school stand.
